At your first visit you will be greeted by a member of our TEAM who will assist you in our computerized "check-in" process, review your health history/HIPPA forms and give you a brief overview of our office.

Dr. Sousa will sit with you to review your history and listen to what your chief concerns and expectations are. Your questions/concerns regarding orthodontic treatment will also be addressed as fully as possible. A thorough clinical exam will be completed and an explanation of your clinical findings will follow.

In the case of a child, if orthodontic treatment is indicated and the patient is ready, growth wise, diagnostic records will be recommended. These records are vital to identifying all the problem issues as well as to develop the appropriate treatment goals and plan. In most cases should you decide to proceed, we will be able to complete the records process at this appointment.

Or, you may wish to consider your options and schedule a separate appointment. In either case we are here to serve you and will do our best to help you in your decision. If a patient is too young for treatment we will recommend a periodic observation schedule, usually at 6-month intervals. These observation appointments are also complimentary.

Adult patients who have treatment needs will also have diagnostic records recommended. Again, in most cases these records can be obtained at the first appointment or if you need time to consider your options a separate appointment may be scheduled.
